When we look to the Bible we need to remember that the many stories woven through its many books were originally there to be told and not read.

In a society that had little in the way of written texts (unless someone had diligently hand copied another copy) these things were heard. They still make a great impression on all the children who hear them via ‘Open the Book’ where Bible stories are acted out in each of our schools. If you would like to join in with the various groups that would be great but more importantly we all need to keep telling the story of Jesus and of God’s people. Storytelling is such a wonderful thing and when it’s lost we are all impoverished.
